A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE KAS
The Kamarupa Anusandhana Samiti (KAS) also known as the Assam Research Society was established on 7th April, 1912 at the sacred place of Goddess Kamakhya of Kamarupa. MM. Dhireswaracharyya, Chandranath Sarma, P.N. Bhattacharyya, K.L. Baruah, Gopinath Bordoloi, Bishnuram Medhi, S.K. Bhuyan, P.D. Goswami, Bani Kanta Kakati were among the pioneers who played a significant role in the establishment and development of the institution.
The KAS is the parent institution of the present day Assam State Museum. It is publishing regularly its journal since 1933, maintaining its high standard, quality and fame.

Call for Unpublished Research-Based Manuscripts
The Kamarupa Anusandhana Samiti invites submission of unpublished, original research-based manuscripts for publication as book under the KAS imprint. We welcome scholarly works on the history, archaeology, culture, language, epigraphy, and heritage of Northeast India (Ancient Kamarupa kingdom).
Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by the our subject experts. Authors of selected works will be notified in due course.
